The recent killings of Chinese workers in Pakistan have hindered GOCG from securing the necessary approvals from their embassy to mobilise their workers to the site. This caused a delay in mobilisation of technical personnel and skilled labourer from China. As a result of these unfortunate incidences, construction works at the site were affected in the past few months.

Nevertheless, GOCG has successfully obtained all the necessary approvals and they are now able to mobilise the required resources to the site.

GOCG had since arranged for their technical personnel and skilled labourer to be deployed at the site progressively. Workers are now at the site, construction works has accelerated tremendously.

The preparation works for the casting of pile cap and basement slab at Block 7 and 8 have ended whilst majority of similar works done at Block 1 have been completed. Concreting  is likely to take place before middle of October 2007. Once this is completed, the building structural works for the upper floors will ensue. The 1st storey is scheduled to be constructed in December 2007. The building superstructure will be constructed as per the construction cycle of approximately 7 to 10 days per floor.

Excavation works for Block 2, 3 and 4 have been completed. GOCG is progressively making the preparation works for the casting of pile cap and basement slab at this area.

A new concrete batching plant has also been procured to support the anticipated high volume production required in the schedule. The batching plant has now been assembled and will be in production soon.

In anticipation of the tower block construction, GOCG has also started erection of the tower cranes.

Looking ahead in the next three months, the site will be increasingly busy with construction activities. GOCG will be mobilising more workers to the site. The teething problems at the basement construction have now been fully resolved. As the contractor gains momentum, Block 1, 7 and 8 will progress well into the uperstructure construction phase. As for Block 2, 3 and 4, we anticipate the basement works will be completed in November or December 2007. Following this, works will progress to the tower constructions.

During this period, basement and pile cap constructions will take place on the remaining blocks.

Concurrently, as part of our quality assurance procedure, GOCG will construct a mock up apartment with the specified finishes. The availability of the mock up will enable us to envisage the actual finishes to be used for the project. All existing buyers will be invited to have a preview of the mock up unit once it is completed.
